I hide behind my words. Its true.
The thought popped out before I knew
I hide behind my words,
I make them dance and sing,
I make them laugh and cry,
So I don't have to.
I make my words say the things,
That would otherwise remain
Zipped tight behind my lips.
Words protect me,
Because without my words,
The silence, the white noise,
Deafens me.
I borrow the eloquence of language,
To mask the stilted, childlike voice inside,
To skew facts, to emphasise points,
That do not deserve it.
Yet within the loquaciousness of my words,
My truth spreads its claws to dig
Bleeding gouges into my lies,
Killing them effectively.
Without words,
The knots of my life are unraveled, uncensored
To pure emotion, to unvarnished truth.
To untainted innocence

You may hide behind your words, but to the discerning eye the meaning behind your words are evident. I am happier now seeing your words, than the time when they were so far and few between. Keep writing Divi. I love to come here to see what you write.
Anita-- I love you sister, for being my older sister and friend when I needed it the most.
It took major upheaval to find my words again, but discovering that they had not ditched me was a relief. :)

reminds me of the song - "words, words are all I have to take your heart away..."
Loved the poem btw... :)
Yeah that old classic number by Westlife was it? or Boyzone? *ducks flying projectiles from Bee Gee fans*
